Types of Bikes @ Outpost Sports

There is truly a bike for every occasion and we have them all at Outpost Sports. It doesn't matter if you are a hard-core roadie, seasoned mountain biker, or you're looking for improved fitness, a better commute, or just want to feel the wind in your face as you pedal around your neighborhood, we have a bike for you.

In fact, we have so many bikes we can't list them all here. However, we can certainly give you a sampling of some of our most popular models for each type of bike.

Women's Specific Models

Sometime in the late 90's all the major bike manufactures began producing Women's Specific Bikes. This is not the "low bar" bikes of years past, these are build around performance and comfort. Women's specific designs have subtle but powerful design changes that better fit a woman's body. Everything has been re-engineered from the ground up. While they may look the same, trust us and the 1,000's of female customers we have, these bikes feel better!

Fitness or hybrid bikes are great bikes for riding around the neighborhood or on a rails to trails. They are comfortable to ride and very efficient. The key here is comfort. If you aren't comfortable on your bike, you're less likely to ride it. These bikes make riding a pleasure.

Again, comfort is a key factor for urban or commute bikes, these also offer the added bonus of including things like racks and fenders so you can carry things to and from work and limit the chance of a random puddle messing up your work clothes. Many riders use fitness or hybrid bikes to commute, but there are some features found on these models that can make them a little more compelling for some.

Electric/Pedal Assist

Electric/Pedal Assist bikes do the hard work for you. These bikes help you get where you're going a little quicker and with a lot less effort.
